General Nurses
Within healthcare, general practice nurses work as part of the primary healthcare team. Due to the broad nature of their role, they are trained to handle a vast array of illnesses, injuries and conditions to provide the best support possible for other specialists that they work alongside. Their roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct patient care and handling initial interactions.
- General care of patients such as bathing, clothing and cleaning.
- Administering doctor-prescribed medication.
- Collecting fluid samples.
- Manage electronic and physical medical records.
- Build a relationship with patients and keep them informed with updates about their treatment.
