ITU Nurses
Nurses who work within the ITU have always been vital assets to the healthcare industry. As they are often on the frontline within medical care, ITU nurses work under extreme pressure at times to help save a patient’s life who may have been exposed to extreme trauma. Due to the level of their role, these nurses possess a broad array of skills such as communication, resilience, advanced technical knowledge of their role and the ability to work through stressful situations. This ties in to the key roles that they carry out day to day which include, but are not limited to:
- Closely observing patients.
- Assisting doctors in providing physical assessments.
- Administering treatments.
- Monitoring of vital signs and ensuring proper use of life support equipment.
- Liaising with other practitioners.
